About Bernat Blanket

Bernat Blanket is a soft, super bulky chenille yarn made for throws, cushions, baskets and chunky blankets. It works up fast on a large hook, which is why it became the default for quick, cozy projects. The regular skeins come in a 150 g (5.3 oz) and a 300 g (10.5 oz) put-up.

This chart covers the 22 solid shades with their manufacturer numbers. The number comes from the SKU, the same five digits printed on the band, so you can match it against a pattern or a shop listing.

These hex values are approximate

No yarn maker publishes sRGB values, so each value on this page was measured from Bernat's own product photograph of the skein. The measurement finds the skein in the frame, masks out the paper band across its middle, drops the shaded underside and the sheen, and takes the dominant color of what remains.

That is repeatable, and it is still a photograph: uncalibrated, compressed and showing one dye lot. Chenille is harder than most yarns, because the pile catches light differently from every angle. Relative relationships between shades hold up. Absolute values do not.

What is not here

Multicolor, heathered and variegated shades are held back, because a swatch promises that a block worked in that color will look like it, and these cannot keep that promise. Discontinued colors are left out too. The 150 g and 300 g shade sets are combined, and Blanket Extra Thick is a separate yarn with its own numbers.

Planning a project with these shades

Chenille hides stitch definition, so a chunky blanket or throw reads as color and texture and not as fine detail. Pick the palette first, and keep the number of shades small. Buy all the yarn for one color at once, because skeins from different production runs can differ slightly.

The crochet blanket calculator estimates how many skeins a blanket needs, and the crochet pattern maker turns a picture into a chart in your chosen shades.

FAQ

How many Bernat Blanket colors are there?
This chart lists 22 solid Bernat Blanket shades, taken from the regular 150 g and 300 g skeins. Bernat also sells Blanket in many multicolor, striped and ombré versions, and Blanket Extra Thick, which has its own shade numbers. None of those are on this chart.
Why are some Bernat Blanket colors missing?
Shades whose skein photo shows more than one tone are held back, because one hex would misrepresent them. That covers the heathered and variegated colorways such as Harvest, Fall Leaves and Coastal Cottage. Chenille pile also makes a few solid shades photograph unevenly, and Fern and Rosemary may be among them, so check those two against a real skein.
Are these the official Bernat Blanket colors?
No. Bernat does not publish hex values, and no yarn maker does. Each value here was measured from the pixels of Bernat's own studio photo of the skein. That photo is uncalibrated and compressed, and it shows one dye lot, so treat the swatch as a planning reference and not a color match.
Are the 150 g and 300 g skeins the same colors?
No. The two skein sizes carry different shade sets with different numbers, so a shade you see in one size may not exist in the other. This chart combines both and shows the number for each.
Is Bernat Blanket the same as Bernat Blanket Extra Thick?
No. Extra Thick is a thicker chenille with its own range and its own 62000-series numbers, so its shades are not interchangeable with these.
Why do thread and yarn colors look different on my screen?
Every display renders color differently, and chenille looks lighter or darker depending on which way the pile lies. Use this chart to compare and plan, then check a real skein in daylight.
Can I print this Bernat Blanket color chart?
Yes. Click the print button above the chart to open a clean, print-optimized layout, or download the free PDF. The printed version shows all 22 colors with their numbers and names, formatted to fit standard paper sizes.
